Challenge
Most therapy stops when the session ends. Clients forget the techniques, progress stalls, and the therapist has no view of what happens until the next appointment.
Goals
Keep clients working on their therapy every day, give therapists real tools rather than just a chat window, and turn the work into structured, trackable tasks that run the same on mobile and web.
The Solution
We designed and built iOS and Android apps in React Native, a web platform for clients and therapists, and a Laravel back-end with an admin panel that runs content, users and subscriptions.
Features
HealthBridge has two sides. Therapists assign homework, share resources, write session notes and follow each client's progress. Clients open the app to complete that homework, work through guided exercises and log what comes up between sessions. Everything a client does feeds back to their therapist, and reminders keep both sides active from one appointment to the next.
Onboarding
A short walkthrough explains what the app does, then asks one question: client or therapist. From that choice on, each role gets its own home screen, its own tools and its own view of the work.
Homework from My Therapist
Therapists assign tasks such as current triggers, goals and concerns, or a list of memories. Clients fill them in through simple guided forms, and completed tasks move to their own tab where the therapist can review them.
Resources & Session Notes
Therapists share links, videos and PDFs alongside the built-in content, and post session notes the client can read later. Tools like bilateral audio, with adjustable tones, background sounds and a timer, sit in the same place.
3-Part Breathing
Guided exercises pair step-by-step instructions with an animated body diagram and a timer, so clients can practise a technique at home exactly as they learned it in the session.
Resources Library
A library of psychoeducation articles, EMDR tools, self-soothing techniques and more, sorted into categories and filterable by type. Clients can save what helps them to their own collection.
Calm Place Reminders
Clients build a personal calm place: they choose a video scene, notice and name how it feels, and listen to a guided audio. Scheduled reminders bring them back to it on the days and times they pick.
Interactive Exercises
Some resources are made to be used rather than just read. In Tiny Images for Big Feelings, clients swipe through photo sets and add captions, a small, playful exercise for lifting their mood.
Web Interface
The app also works in the browser. Clients get the same exercises, library and calm place on a bigger screen with a side menu, and therapists manage clients, content and appointments from the web platform.
